#28 Beyond the boundaries of impossiblities

Beyond the boundaries of impossibilities

Theme: Through this poem, I want to convey a message that there is always a hope even in the darkest period of one’s life. Sometimes, the cruelty of the situation paralyzes the greatest qualities of us making them fade into our unconsciousness. Thus, we become so unconscious of their existence within us that we make uncountable futile efforts searching them around and end up in frustration. It is no different from the state of deer in desert which mistakes mirage in sand to be water and runs fanatically to avail that.
So there is a need to always stay in the state of awareness of our own strengths which can be harnessed properly during the hour. For this, the idea of impossibility has to get eradicated from the mind for a long term and it should be visualized in a positive light as – I M POSSIBLE.

Standing at the verge of extinction
Deceived by self conviction
Which was once a path tracer
But now has turned into a traitor.

The best qualities locked up
Inside the grave of impossibilities
Not even a faint sound around
To invoke them like hounds.

Isn’t it an unfair hibernation?
When the world has come
To a state of standstill,
A phenomenon against your will.

A thick layer of fog and mist
Surrounds the graveyard and twisted
Lay the creepers on the way
Like scriptures of the clay.

The escape is not natural
Because of the presence of the peripheral
Distractions pulling it back
Into the inanimate coffin.

The law of nature can’t be unjust
For those who toil hard and trust
The outcome to be right
Because of the Almighty.

Suddenly once the captives
Break all the shackles
With energy gathered before
To go beyond the boundaries of impossibilities.

Stop the boundaries of impossibilities
From growing stronger
Because to be IMPOSSIBLE- a SIN,
And possible – a synonym for WIN.

Let the energies of surroundings
Resonate with yours.
Delving deeper inside yourself
Is worth a world tour.

Cut off the vicious cycle
Of belittling yourself and others
So that you can very well recall
Those leaps that covered.

It’s only you who knows
Who you are
Having potential equivalent
To that of a billion stars.

This is the secret of all success.
Just leave the idea of being depressed
Because you never know what’s in store
Once the struggle is over.

#27 In the regime of words

In the regime of words

Theme: There are words and words everywhere. We are in fact, encapsulated by them. Can we ever imagine a world without words? Can you think of any other alternative of expressing yourselves? I don’t think it to be ever possible without them. They are as important as the air we breathe. These are the fundamental units of communication, medium of exchanging thoughts and ideas. We are constantly in the dynamic process of exchange of words. We don’t know how many words we give to others and how many we receive in return.. Let’s not get further into the complexities of the words.. After all, we’ve to admit that we dwell in the regime of words..

In the regime of words
We and our reticent selves
Are governed by them which
Lend wings to our
Endless thoughts, emotions
And enliven the unspoken.

Words- reflections of our
Inner spirits and
Mirage to the outer world
Even in the unspoken form
Resembling a strange herald.

Words travel far and wide
Crossing all borders
Either in form of speech
Or simply written stuffs
Conquering ages and minds.

These have enormous power
Having the ability of transforming
The gloomy and defeated souls
If preserved and nurtured
With utmost care.

Words prompt actions
If properly constructed upon.
Ideas emanating from them
Can create wonders
Only when meticulously deciphered.

Some may seem familiar
While others unfamiliar
Yet familiar in a unique way.
They may have their own voice.
Can you guess what they say?

How well do we realize
The dynamic exchange of words?
It’s an infinite chain
Ranging from infinity to nowhere
Enveloping every sphere.

Sometimes we float aimlessly
Amidst the sea of words
Searching for connection or association
With another such word
To personify the expressions.

Words thrown, words caught,
We should know that we must
Hold on to some
While letting others pass

In the continuous flow.

#26 Time and Tide waits for none

Time and tide waits for none

It is a well known proverb that “time and tide waits for none”. It lays emphasis on the importance of time management and opportunities of life. Time is a self explanatory term. It requires no further elucidation in the area of its meaning and definition. Tide in the above mentioned line symbolizes opportunities offered by life. Both are equally important as the loss of time and opportunities can never be recovered. Those losses remain unrecovered throughout the life.
The importance of managing time cannot be underestimated or neglected as this fact should not be taken lightly. The secret behind the success of every successful person lies in his efficiency in managing time. He, who can manage time, can easily win over the ordeals of life. Proper planning is one of the ingredients of success. It helps in the accomplishment of multi –tasks in a short time and hence saves time. Keeping in view its importance, it should be used judiciously, the way we use non-renewable sources of energy. The utility of those sources are very easily perceived because of their physical existence .But it is just the reverse in case of time. People seldom realize this. They only realize the loss caused by it which cannot be repaired. The following proverb can substantiate the aforementioned lines- “A stitch in time saves nine.” This means the task done in time prevents oneself from bearing the losses.
Tides represent opportunities. It is opportunities which lay down the primary ladder to success. Like the tides forming in the sea due to the pull of gravity of moon, numerous and uncountable opportunities come and go in life. But every opportunity is different from the other. He always manages to become a winner in the rat race who has learnt to “strike the iron when it is hot”-exploiting appropriate opportunities in right time. To utilize the opportunities properly, one must always remain prepared because like the tides, they come uninformed or accidently. For that one has to “make hay while the sun shines”-always remain alert and attentive to make best use of the opportunities coming in the way. Constant efforts must be put without caring about the failures because failures are like small stones in the sea which may affect the strength of tides but cannot prevent their formation because their formation depends solely on the gravitational pull of moon. In other words, failures make one to lose a particular opportunity but it can never block the incoming opportunities. Opportunities should never be left to chance nor to fortune as both of these have no role in governing it. It is the characteristics of the losers and cowards who procrastinate the tasks and hold their destiny or fortune for that .After all, fortune favors the brave. Braves or determined persons build their own fortunes by their deeds and by visualizing opportunities in their failures.
In the nutshell, time and tides are no such physical quantities which can be controlled by money. It is common for all rich and poor. They discriminate against no caste, nation, society, gender, creed, religion or belief etc. One can prove himself to be a winner if he is able to exploit the proper opportunities in proper time as time and tide wait for none.

#25 CREATIVE CONSTELLATION

Evolution of the blog named “CREATIVE CONSTELLATION”
Pencil Shading By Sweta Sarangi

Creative Constellation is a collaboration of two words as can be seen clearly…These are creative and constellation. These words themselves explain the whole concept, creative means generating something new from one’s imagination and innovative ideas and constellation means agglomeration of different stars to form a bigger group. Similarly this blog is an agglomeration of different thoughts and ideas which get generated up unconsciously within. Through words in form of different writing styles, these thoughts or ideas can be conveyed to the outer world very distinctively. In a nutshell this blog is meant to explore this form of art which is unique from other art forms.

Well the above mentioned lines throw lights on the meaning completely…Now, let’s move a bit ahead. You may be interested to know the reasons behind such creation and the evolution of this blog. Let me elaborate.

In my childhood days, I liked to write articles in order to develop some of my writing skills. But I lost interest in consecutive years. I felt that this writing skills would not help me much or I could say that it was only for the purpose of developing a regular habit and that’s all  .Here it is interesting to note that my sis was the indirect driving force. One day my sister (Swati) told me that she was about to publish her writings in her blog. She published those and asked me to have a look at her work (though she composes very nice poems). Her work was simply fantastic. Initially the name of the blog was on her name. She asked me to do some editing in her blog if required as she knew that I am the one who can spend a whole day in front of computer for internet surfing, downloading games, softwares, editing , making presentations, etc. Up till now an arbitrary blog was developed.

Now, I am about to share what had prompted me to write my first story. It was for the magazine of college. I planned to write a short story. As I had never experimented something like this before, it consumed many of my hours. I did editing again and again to get a perfect one. Finally, the story was completed.  I felt relaxed to complete the story within one day after struggling for many hours.

My sis suggested me to post this story in her blog. Then I joined her blog as a co-writer (I call myself a co-writer because I am not a regular writer and pursue this art form in leisure hours only). As we two had joined the same blog, the name of the blog had to be changed because it was connecting only one initially. Suddenly the word “creative” stroke my brain in a lightning speed. In order to make it sound resonating, I put corner after creative. It was not approved by her but she was in favour of using the word creative.

We were in search of a word starting with ‘C’ which would accompany the previous mentioned word. After a lot of discussions and mind boggling searches, the constellation came to our way. This word gave a complete view/direction to our thoughts and a virtual knot (for writing) connecting two of us. After a lot of renovations, the blog named creative constellation reaches its way like any other blogs. Of course I had to change the domain name to www.creative-constellation.blogspot.com. The tag line is streamlining the random thoughts and creativity with words…..Finally a blog named creative constellation had evolved.

For the readers, I would like to introduce some of the sections of my blog. The main purpose of this kind of division is to categorize different ideas based on the thinking. By this way, the readers can easily figure out the theme just by seeing the main title. This approach will serve to be a systematic view of the blog. So the sections are as follows:

1) Poetry (short, long, medium and theme can be anything)
2) Short stories (arousing emotions)
3) Movie mania (Movie reviews)
4) For book worms (Book reviews)
3) Articles (elaboration of main idea)
4) Nostalgia/Memorabilia (recollection of old memories)
5) Emanating thoughts (internal ideas and striking thoughts)
6) Curiosity (a collection of facts based on researches)

I hope that this blog will be able to establish a link between the writers (we two) and the readers and most importantly convey the idea. Without critics, writing skills will not be improved. Feedback from the readers will boost up the level of confidence and it will inspire to create something new and innovating. So in each posts, some suggestions are required from the readers. Readers are requested to post their comments below the posts. So, with this I want to pause my words from further flowing.

Happy reading and Keep reading.

SWATI SARANGI
Introduction
Well to start with my intro, I’m an ordinary girl who loves to dream high and chase them because I believe, without dreams or goals, life seems to be directionless. Life is certainly precious. A technical student who finds all sorts of enjoyment in reading and writing. I like to spend my time in my own world of imagination. A shy natured girl, quite reticent, a hard-core supporter of Human rights and strong believer of Karma and its effects.

About my journey of writing, I've contributed my pieces of writing to school and college magazines, e-magazines like Agnishatdal and Writer's Ezine various websites like learning and creativity. I've won many prizes at school, college and national level competitions in writing. My articles and poems have got published in various anthologies such as Shades of life-2, The Stage, The season, Addiqtd book of poetry. In my spare time, I write in two blogs- this one and the other one in wordpress(www.wordstoworldblog.wordpress.com).

I appreciate all philosophical and spiritual aspects associated with life as it helps me to broaden my insight to life. My ideals in life are my parents, Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi A.P.J Abdulkalam, Paulo Coelho, Stephen Hawking, Hellen Keller and many more…… I get immense inspiration from the world surrounding me which guides and motivates me to absorb into it and learn from its each component.

Favourite Quotations:
1)      Take up one idea. Make that idea your life- think of it and dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves and every part of your body be the full of that idea and just leave every idea alone. This is the secret of success.- Swami Vivekananda
2)    Look at the sky. You’re not alone. The universe is friendly toward and conspires only to give the best to those who dream and work- Dr.A.P.J Abdulkalam.
3)    He worked by day
And toiled by night
Gave up play and all delight
Dry books he read, new things to learn
And when he won
People called it LUCK – Anonymous
The third quote, rather a short poem, gives the impression that there is a huge amount of difference between the way world interprets you and you interpret yourself because no one knows you better than yourself. So, we should have a deep understanding of our own self unbiased by the perception of the world.
Last but not the least……
I welcome you all to this blog which has come up as a consequence of our scribbles.
I hope you enjoy reading our blog….
Looking forward to receive your valuable comments and feedback because they act as catalyst in the process of creation..

#24 On Abstract thing

    The most prized possession
PART-2

Since I’m writing about the diary, I find it quite apparent to mention the factors behind motivating me to initiate diary writing. I can very well recall that my diary writing began as a result of assignment given to me during the summer vacation when I was in standard 5.Then, I was too young to understand the essence of writing a diary and ended up filling the pages of diary simultaneously as entry for 3-4 days in a day in order to accomplish the assignment. Thereafter, I was again given the same task a year later. This time I followed the same procedure for which I could even not feel its importance. I could feel the importance of diary writing when the book “The diary of a young girl” by Anne Frank accidently caught my eyes lying among the rack of non-fiction books in my school’s library. I admired her expression through her words which reflected her straightforwardness. She had been very descriptive about everything present around her- environment, friends, school, the location of secret annex where she lived, family, life and everything. Since she lived in a secret annex, she merely had any friends to share her feelings. So, in that case diary came to her rescue in terms of listening to her feelings. Her words were so expressive and powerful that I could not continue after 50-60 pages. The entire scene flashed before my eyes making my eyes wet with tears but reading her diary provided an enormous encouragement to me to write down my feelings.

Initially, I filled the pages of diary with daily routine starting from morning to night. In subsequent years, a strong bond of intimacy developed between me and my diary and I started to be more transparent in projecting my emotions and views in my diary. Reading and writing have always been the subjects of my interest since childhood. Interestingly, my shyness and reluctance to speak also add to the reason of writing diary. I feel writing diary in form of pure confession or expression is the best way to communicate with oneself as one never faces any kind of opposition and diary, being an inanimate thing, always lends an ear to your words when the real world does not. Many scientific researchershave revealed that diary writing acts as a stress buster. I’ve felt the same for the first time during my preparation for CBSE BOARDS for 10th class. I find diary writing an excellent way of introspecting oneself at the end of the day. Sometimes feelings can be better penned down beautifully rather than spoken out. Diary writing also provides a way to pacify my mind which is stuffed with all random thoughts. Writing down the feelings not only stabilizes the mind but also renders a feeling of comfort of having shared one’s own thoughts (even though with an inanimate thing). I share my strengths, weaknesses, celebration, joy, success, failures and everything with my best friend- diary. The level of obsession with my diary has risen to such a height that if I don’t communicate with it even for a single day, I become restless. It is difficult to express the old memories and feelings getting revived on turning over the pages of old diary. It makes me laugh on my silliness of the past as well as sigh on the passage of those golden moments of the bygone days.

I’ve come across numerous instances depicting the craze for diary writing. For example,it was depicted in the blockbuster movie of the era ANAND directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Dr. Bhaskar Baneerjee fondly known as Babu Moshay enacted by star of the millennium  Amitabh Bachhan , was fond of penning down his feelings at the end of the day in his diary. In one of the Hollywood movies (I can’t recall the name correctly), the leading character, the protagonist of the movie, a teenage girl has been shown maintaining a diary during the day. She has been shown as a very introvert girl who hardly speaks but she possesses an unparallel writing skill. Because of her shy nature, she faces a lot of criticism from fellow students of the class which further demoralizes her effort to get mixed up with other fellow students. But the movie ends up with a very positive note, as her talent speaks up when she is appointed as the chief editor of the school magazine. The novel “Leah” by J.M.Reep gives another example of obsession of teenage girl to diary writing.

In the nutshell, diary is inseparable part of my existence. The most ordinary non-living thing has a special place in my heart. Therefore, I consider it as the MOST PRIZED POSSESSION. It is worth million of wealth for me. I can never think of staying away from itas in case of my family. It provides a great platform of expression for me as spontaneously erupted thoughts and emotions should be instantly captured among those ruled white pages. With the passage of time, the bonding between a living and non-living thing is getting strengthened and I also hope that in coming years also it will continue to be a great companion of me. May this friendship last long. With a very optimistic note,
      I’m signing off for now……..
